I will have to admit there are a good number of new golfers out on the golf courses attempting to figure out how to play golf.
When I see these businessmen and women putting forth a sincere effort to hitting the golf ball, but obviously fail due to obtaining the skills needed to play golf, it takes me back 30 years ago when I decided that learning to play golf effectively was going to help in my career advancement.
Golf Boot Camp
Those memories of flaying at the golf ball only to see it NOT go where I wanted to go…or as far as I needed it to go, brought me back to remembering my first trip to a three-day golf school.
It was more of a boot camp for those of us who only hit three balls on the driving range and then head to the 1st tee to chase down a golf ball for a few hours before hitting the 19th hole for a cold beer.
In a multi-day golf school, you spend a LOT of time hitting balls so the instructors can see your golf swing. Then you will hit more golf balls after they give you some adjustments. This goes on OVER AND OVER.
Learn Before You Play
I think it is time to bring back the three-day-long golf schools. Hitting hundreds of golf balls on several consecutive days works to hone in your golf swing. Three days of golf school will also get you in better physical shape. And expect to have blisters on both hands…but it is ALL GOOD!!
The results of going through this golf school will be positive. It tickles me when I get back from golf school to see the looks on the faces of the guys in my regular group when I snap a drive off the first tee and it safely floats down to the center of the fairway about 25 yards past their drives. Makes those thousands of golf balls I hit over three days all worth it. Learn to play golf by going to golf school.
Let me know how I can help.
