Are You Ready to Play Golf?
That is the question nearly every recreational golfer is asking themselves today. If they are not, they should be. Golf has enough problems to now have to deal with a HUGE one that can kill people.
Now that the COVID-19 pandemic has circled the world once and on its way around a second time..Golfers are wondering if it is worth taking the chance that someone with a severe case of COVID-19 is:
- in the group of golfers they are playing with…
- in the group ahead of them…
- serving them beers on the course…
- just walking around the parking lot.
Golf Is Already Tough Enough
Golf is already taking a hit from the large number of avid golfers who have thrown in the towel from trying to keep up with attempting to play at the level of the professionals who make hitting a 400 yard drive look so easy.
Golf is already taking another hit because of the high cost of getting equipped, and staying equiped, just to play the game.
Then Golf has been taking a hit for many years now for the time it takes to play the game due to the golf courses mixing the rank beginners with the accomplished players to create a train wreak of slow play before they make the turn.
Is The Risk Too High?
Now we have the risk of getting sick and dying from being exposed to COVID-19 from someone playing golf .
Yes, the likelihood of contracting COVID-19 on the golf course is about the same as contracting any other disease. However, there are millions of golfers looking for legitimate excuse to get out of dealing with golf and the COVID-19 is one reason they are using to jump off the Golf Train.
Could Be Wrong
Hope I’m wrong. If I’m right, Golf is going to have to deal with the new generation of golfers who are only out to look and play like a professional golfers. Since that is the ONLY exposure to anyone who plays golf that is their expectation on how Golf is played.
What is going to happen when they find out it takes YEARS of playing and tens of thousands of dollars to get there.
Well..let’s see how Golf deals with this huge change.
Let me know how I can help.
