How do millennials view business golf?
In the May 2, 2017, article in GolfWeek; How a ‘Millennial National Country Club’ could affect future of golf, Bradly Klien reported that how many people feel about Millennials as the disrespectful disrupters of the golf culture does not hold true for the vast majority of Millennials.
The National Golf Foundation (NGF) found half of all millennials who play golf prefer the game’s traditions and rigor.
The NGF calls them “throwbackers” .
Can Millennials Bring Business Golf Back
However, Millennials’ interest in Golf has not always been positive. A 2015 National Golf Foundation report said millennial golfers, people 18-34 year olds, numbered nine million golfers in the mid-1990s. By 2015 their numbers were down to six million. Participation rates fell from 14% of that age group to 9%.
So, How will Millennial golfer accept playing business golf? What has to change with business golf in order for more Millennials to play it? Are do Millennials need to change in order to play business golf?
All are good questions and will be the amount the many I am setting out to find the answers to during my 2018 golf season where I gather up the information that tells me the most effective ways business golf can be played with a Millennial mindset.
