I use the term Get After It frequently.
Why?
Over the past 15 years I have run into more and more people who are running around in circles in an effort to develop more or new business but seem to end back to where I met them…at a networking gathering bitching about not being able to find a way to find out a person’s character before they go into business with them or sign a contract with them.
Eventually, they will get around to asking me…what do I recommend they do? My first question to them is..do you play golf?
Business Development Tool
If they say yes, then I sent up a round of business golf. There I tell them how they can use Golf as a business development tool.
New Life Experience
If they say No! I respond with the need for to learn. Golf is a life experience.
Usually, if they say they don’t play golf I get to hear more moaning about how golf is a frivolous activity..or other excuses that boil down to them being very concerned with how Golf makes them look to others.
For either one of the answers they give me I usually will add the remark.. “all you need to do is Get After It!”
That’s right. There are too many people in business today who use “Hope” as their business strategy. They Hope that someone will hire them…they Hope that the networking event they attend will attract business to them…they Hope learning to play golf does not produce a negative professional image.
My response to all of their hopes is…I Hope they Get After It!
Do something. Don’t just Hope yourself through life. Make something happen. Learn something new…like golf. It will pay off if you just…Get After It!
Let me know how I can help.
