The Masters, the first major professional golf tournament of the professional golf season is coming up. The best way to watch The Masters is to be there in person. Here is a great travel package for you to consider.
From a cost-perspective, 2018 may be the ideal time to check two items off your golf bucket-list—Play Pinehurst No. 2 AND attend The Masters. The reason being, with where The Masters falls on the calendar in 2018 it is at the very end of Pinehurst Resort Shoulder Season period. What this means for you . . . Even better savings than normal from Golf Trip Junkie!
Here is what our Pinehurst Resort + Masters Golf vacation would look like. Of course, this is the starting level but can be tweaked and modified to meet any needs.
4 NIGHT, 3 ROUND PINEHURST GOLF PACKAGE
While putting this golf package together our goal was to make it as cost-efficient as possible to help people achieve a dream of playing awesome golf and attending The Masters without breaking the bank. The golf team at Golf Trip Junkie built this Pinehurst golf package with lodging, which starts with arrival on Thu-Mar-29-2018, in The Manor Inn at Pinehurst Resort, based on double occupancy. At Pinehurst Resort, several other lodging options are available that meet the needs of any size group.
The suggested golf for this Pinehurst golf vacation is as follows:
Day 1 – ONE (1) round on Pinehurst No. 5
Day 2 – ONE (1) round on Pinehurst No. 8
Day 3 – ONE (1) round on Pinehurst No. 2
This suggested golf schedule is a wonderful mix of golf where golfers will enjoy a round on a Classic Course— Pinehurst No. 5, and two rounds on Championship Courses at Pinehurst Resort—No. 8 and No. 2. An added bonus to this golf vacation would be an optional round on The Cradle Short Course—the newly designed and extremely popular 9-hole, par-3 course, which has been a massive hit with our customers.
At Golf Trip Junkie, we are also able to suggest other popular golf courses at Pinehurst Resort, as well as the Pinehurst Area. For example, highly ranked popular golf courses such as Dormie Club and Tobacco Road Golf Club, just to name a couple.
PINEHURST RESORT + THE MASTERS = A LIFETIME OF GREAT MEMORIES
Following this 4 night, 3 round Pinehurst golf vacation, the crew of golfers will make the early morning 3 1/2 hour drive to Augusta National for the Monday practice round. Upon entry into Augusta National, you will be free and clear to walk the hollow grounds of the famed Alister MacKenzie/Bobby Jones masterpiece. While many people decide to park it in one specific location during the practice rounds, one of the most enjoyable golf experiences we have ever had was walking the golf course—twice!
By walking the golf course, you get a much better appreciation for just how hilly Augusta National is. Simply put, TV does not do it justice. Of course, while walking the course you want to see some golf shots. During our visit back in 2009, we followed many top golfers at the prime of their careers or entering the prime of their careers—Angel Cabrera (the eventual winner), Adam Scott, Rory McIlroy, Sean O’Hair, Vijay Singh, Greg Norman, Padraig Harrington, Luke Donald, Hunter Mahan . . . just to name a few. We also saw Tiger Woods from a distance!
One of the surprising truths of Augusta National is that everything inside the grounds is very affordable. Food and drinks are shockingly inexpensive, as well as quite tasty. Inside the souvenir shops, hats, t-shirts, flags, mugs, etc., are also very affordable.
Quite simply, you cannot go wrong with this once in a lifetime experience!
Of course, this golf package is the starting point with Monday practice round tickets. At Golf Trip Junkie, we are also able to custom-build other packages that can include any of the other days at The Masters, with different starting dates at Pinehurst Resort. In addition, if groups are looking for lodging options in Augusta, GA we have that as well—Golf Trip Junkie is your one-stop-shop!
