There is hardly a day goes by where someone, online or offline, does not asks me..
What Exactly is Business Golf..?
Generally the number of times I am asked this question each day grows when a business golf event is being held in an area and these past three weeks, with the PGA conducting it’s classic ‘Texas Swing’, are one of those times where the amount of times I get asked what Business Golf is increasing.
It really does not bother me to answer this question and the number of times I get asked this question is encouraging. What it means is more people are wondering what the big deal is about Golf. It is very encouraging to find so many people who current do not play golf wanting to learn for business purposes.
What I am finding is more people are hearing business people asking their contacts if they want to play a round of golf or go to a golf event. Eventually they hear the word ‘Business Golf’ and here come the questions.
It is rather shocking to find how strong the interest in business golf remains. Granted, I am seeing what the rest of the golf economy is seeing in a significant decline in the number of people who play golf. However who I am seeing pulling out of golf are the recreational golfers. The interest in golf by business people is holding steady with maybe an increase in the new college graduates.
I hope this keeps up and I will be keeping my eye on this increase to see if it holds up. If it does it will be good for golf.
